Europe Direct Craiova
Europe Direct Craiova is one of the European Commission’s information centres in Romania, hosted by the Forever for Europe Association since 2008.
We are now in the sixth consecutive funding cycle. That continuity is unusual: the network is re-tendered for every programming generation, and centres change hands. Ours has not.
What the centre does
- A physical information point in Craiova, open at least five days a week, free of charge to any citizen
- Educational workshops in schools across Dolj County
- Civic dialogue events with Members of the European Parliament and Commission representatives
- A local function countering disinformation about the European Union
- Activation of a network of 30+ local EU ambassadors
- Support for youth mobility through together.eu, Euroscola, Erasmus+ and DiscoverEU
- Social media and digital outreach, with localised content produced monthly

Why this matters to a partner
Hosting a Europe Direct centre gives a project three things that are hard to buy: an established communication channel to a regional audience, working relationships with the European Commission Representation in Romania, the European Parliament Liaison Office in Bucharest and the Europe Direct centres across the Romanian–Bulgarian border area, and credibility with local authorities and schools that opens doors during recruitment of participants.
In practical terms: when a consortium needs dissemination that reaches beyond a press release and a project website, this is the capacity we bring.
The centre has its own site at europedirect.mpe.ro.
